Inner tube for 33.4mm forks +8 inches
This is an inner tube that is 8 inches longer than the stock fork for the front fork used on the XL and FX from 1957-72.
16 years ago, I had a PAN CHOPPER with 33.4+8 inches made by Cherry's Company in Suginami, and I rode it almost every day until I sold it.
For the past 10 years, 33.4mm inner tubes have only been sold in stock length, so if you wanted a long fork, your only options were the original or the +4 or +6 made by GLIDESTONE.
As a fan of long forks, I really wanted to make a product with +8 inches, so I asked a company that manufactures inner tubes for restoring old KAWASAKI cars in Japan to design and consider the materials, and produced it at a factory overseas.
The material is STKM13C (seamless) carbon steel polished tube for mechanical structures.
Installation must be done at a motorcycle repair shop.
The stock spring is 8 inches short, so you will need to assemble it yourself using PVC pipe or something similar.
The included collars may or may not be used depending on the inner damper you use.
There are three types of 33.4mm forks.
1952-67 Early model Long rod hanging method No collar required
*The piston rod is not long enough, so an extension is required on the upper side of the rod.
A one-off production is required using a lathe, so please consult with a shop that can install it.
1968-70 Mid model Collar required
1971-72 Late model Collar required
*When installing on a genuine triple
The genuine inner tube was not plated, so the inner diameter of the insertion part is small, so honing of the triple side is required.
Aftermarket trees are also made to match the 33.4mm of the aftermarket tree, so they can be used as is.
The diameter of our inner tubes is manufactured at a cross of 33.4mm-0.02-0.05.
The frame in the installation image is a replica frame, so the neck angle is 30 degrees.
The way it rises up, unique to the +8 inch, is pretty badass.
*For vehicles with a rise, the stock stand is not long enough, so you will need to bend the stand or do some other ingenuity, so be sure to consult with the shop you are asking to install it before purchasing the inner tube.
Currently, there are no ready-made stands for long forks.
