36-79 Oil Stop Spacer Kit

This spacer kit was developed to prevent oil leaks from the main shaft of the excavator transmission, and is for Mecha Top/Ratchet Top TM from 1936-79.

The genuine spacer has a key groove, so Metaform GK could not be used until now.

Metaform GK is known for being used in primary gaskets from Twin Cam onwards.

Therefore, we studied the genuine spacer and secured the contact surface of the Metaform gasket, designed and created a spacer, quenched and heat treated it with carbon steel, and hardened and chrome-plated the entire spacer to improve durability of the sliding parts (the surface where the seal touches and the main shaft side) and to prevent rust.

In addition, the wall thickness is made thicker than the genuine product to increase its strength.

The special seals used in conjunction with the spacer are not ones from other model years, but are made by NTN, a major bearing manufacturer, and are of the highest quality to match the spacer.

In addition, the spacer body has a one-piece structure, so it has the advantage of being easy to assemble, just like the original, even when the transmission is still on the vehicle.

Can be used with genuine, Andrews, and aftermarket main drive gears.

Metaform gaskets have been used as genuine parts since the Twin Cam model.

Metaform is a metal-based gasket that fills in the minute irregularities on metal surfaces and stops oil leaks much more efficiently than previous paper gaskets.

With the cooperation of KEYSTER and Kishida Precision, we have released a variety of gaskets for classic Harley-Davidson Harleys.

Among these, the Metaform gasket for TM has been well-received, and we have been developing it so that it can also be used on the mecha top/ratchet top.

Metaform gaskets do not require liquid gaskets, so do not use liquid gaskets.

By developing a dedicated spacer, Metaform GK can be used between the main drive gear spacer and sprocket, between the sprocket and lock tab, and between the lock tab and special nut to block oil leaks from metal surfaces where oil may leak.

In addition, sprocket nuts with oil seals are standard among aftermarket products, but we use a higher quality double lip seal made by NOK, which boasts a 70% market share in the industry.

The nuts themselves, such as Duo Nuts, have an O-ring on the contact surface of the sprocket, but to ensure that the oil is stopped, our nuts have a flat seat.

The spacer is designed with a one-piece structure, but this is because it is designed so that the oil reaches the lip part of the NOK seal of the special nut.
By allowing the oil to reach the seal lip part, the oil seal's original lubrication can be properly performed, so it is a structure aimed at a long life.

* Be sure to visually check the clearance between the bearing support and the nut using a spacer, etc.
If there is contact, it will damage the seal.
